Ok, I was looking at a 1997 90hp honda on a hurricane boat. I wanted it for my 21 pontoon. They changed the water pump/impeller and we stuck it in the tank to see how it ran. Needs a carb job for sure but, when we ran a compression check the pressure went as follows: top being number one cylinder, 170 170 178, 70lbs. So my question is what would make the last cylinder drop so much and is it worth buying. Any help is appreciated or is there anybody out there with a 90 for sale?

Whenever you get dismal or uneven compression numbers the next step is a leakdown test to determine the source of the leak. This could be as simple as a misadjusted valve, especially on #4 as they are hard to access and many people just give up.A leakdown will give you the real story.
