1997 Johnson 115HP outboard tilt and trim

I've got problems with the tilt/trim on my 1997 Johnson 115 outboard. It sounds like the tnt motor stays on all the time. The outboard is currently tilted all the way up. Activating the up/down switches do nothing. Relays seem to be okay. Any ideas? Best way to trouble shoot?<br /><br />Thanks!

It sounds like one of your trim switches is bad. I just had the same problem on my Evinrude 115. If you have 2 switches, one on the engine cowl and one one the throttle, disconnect one at a time and you should be able to find out which one is bad. My cowl switch was bad. Good luck.
