Update: had a few ha ha moments, idle screw still a problem
cover screws on throttle body loosened up, reinstalled with locktight.
one my coil grounds wasn’t the best which was causing the surging.
changed pulse limiter and suddenly 2 carbs started flooding, removed garbs and block sanded surfaces, adjusted floats, all good.
Today I started spraying carb cleaner around carbs again and I noticed a rpm increase on top of butterfly’s. If I spray very lightly and let it puddle the motor stalls, I ordered new bushings.
I also ordered new high speed jets, my motor had D73 jets, website states D72. Guess Mech changed after it was rebuilt a few years ago?

Strange coincidence that two carburetors starting flooding right after changing the pulse limiter. Check the float levels.

With the carburetor body held upside down, the float being viewed from the side, adjust the float so that the free end of the float (the end opposite the hinge pin) is ever so slightly higher (just ever so slightly off level) than the other end. And when viewed from the end, make sure it is not cocked.

But your motor has 6 separate crankcases that are sealed.------They are sealed so that when piston comes down in the cylinder there is compression in the crankcase.-----The 6 crankcases are NOT VENTED !

They are called recirculating hoses attached to an external check valve. the system is designed to move puddle fuel back through the system.
I removed and cleaned the external recirculating check valves, i did notice a difference in the #2 cylinder mixture adjustment, its not 100% but better, i plan on launching boat this week for a test ride before i remove carbs and check internal recirculating valves

Ok... Does he have have 30 years experience with OMC with never a comeback? I'll waste no further time here.

I have an extra set of carbs that i will set your way and test, my current issue is for chitz and giggles i picked up a digital compression tester. Digital compression tester says i have 90 psi, analog says 110-115.
My analog has the check valve in the hose, digital is in unit, so i swapped tester lines and test came out at 100 psi on digital tester. I'll ask around and borrow another tester, nothing worse than your testing equipment giving wrong data
