Welk, I was supposed to splash the boat tomorrow, but the weather isn't going to cooperate. My buddy finally had time available and we were each going to bring our boats. Dangitall.

Winds are supposed to be 15-20mph and that's too much for me.

I hear ya, 15 mph wind is OK in my area but 20 and over makes for a very rough day, I prefer around 10 mph and so do the fish !

Yeah, for a first splash, I pretty want 0-5mph. After I'm used to the boat and satisfied with its reliability, I'd stay out and fish until the wind kicks up to about 15, then I'd call it a day and head home.

When I splashed the Kingfisher 5 years ago, the temp was 82 with low humidity and a very gentle 2-3mph breeze. Perfect!

I have a number of places around me that can be protected from wind depending which way it is coming from. I often go for a ride in the river when the big lake can be rolling 2-3 ft, the river is only 6".....

Same for me but I can be on my lake. If wind expected I then choose my launch point. Lots of skinny water I can hide in.

We had winds to 24mph yesterday. I'm glad that I passed on the splash.
Got the grass cut too.
