I have trouble shooted to the high pressure fuel pump - There are no Suzuki Mechanics in my area so I am a little lost. The problem is not my fuel tank fuel lines or the filter -sepertor & plugs are new. The fuel pump is $500.00 - Lots to spend for a guess- Anyone else had this problem . Good start and idle but an immediate bog when i hit the throttle. The problem has slowly developed in the last 3 days.

I changed the fuel filter on the motor to a different inline filter- still with the same problems.

No compression test - I do not think that is neccesary - starts & idles fine - just will not throttle under load- Mechanic that did look at it said best bet is the high pressure pump????

And yes boating is a B-

I found this problem unusual as i just changed the Seperator and the plugs- i wonder if that set it off- I live in BC Canada-that is very non Suzuki - Do you know of any techs that will talk by phone?????

Yes - I agree - the mechanics that were directing the troubleshooting are not Suzuki and they did not have the proper pressure testing equipment as they specialize in Merc engines. Hey THANSK SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. IF YOU ARE EVER IN THIS AREA GIVE ME A RING OR CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE www.tipsup.ca

You should be able to tee in a vacuum/pressure gauge at different points to see what kind of pressures you have and find out if the is a restriction or bad pumps.
A compression check will tell you all cylinders are good or not. A timing light can show you if each cylinder is getting spark when you are having the problem.
These are just some easy things to check and eliminate.
