Thanks to many on here i finaly installed my new 1998 175 evinrudes (carbed) I broke in engines like manual says, and then tried to verify wot rpms quickly, and the port engine is only reaching 4200 rpms, I should mention the engine also sneezes and seems to have a miss every 15 seconds while in gear going slowly, often just shutting off. all the fuel lines are new,new filters etc, fresh gas... the engines have 2 hours running time . The tags on the engines say that timing is set bye the manufacturer and not to adjust timing. can anyone steer me into the right direction ?
ps, starboard engine rreaches 5600 wot

Hi Capt. Manny,
Sounds like that port engine is running lean, try shifting your fuel connections If the problem is now on the starboard engine you have something wrong with the fuel delivery from the tank to the engine. If the problem is still in the port engine you have carb. problems. If it were me I would take it back to dealer and have them clean the carbs.
Good luck
