1998 90 hp spl johnson problem

took it out on water and ran fine. Then I went to start it and the bulb was smashed. Vacumn. I undid the line at the gas tank and it release. Got it started and everything was fine.

Just this past sat I took it out and it ran but it was smoooooth then a thump. smooooth then a thump. At the thump the motor would jerk and the steering whell would jerk also. then it was fine again

Sunday hard to start. again with smooooth then thump. I put it in gear it stalled. Did his many times. Then I got a vacumn again. When I took off the gas cap sounded like opening a vacumn sealed bag.

Ran fine after that so I thought. got out on the water gave it full throttle and only got 2000 rpms out of it. I stopped and when I started back up nothing. Would spit and sputter then nothing at all. Would not start.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like a plugged vent

running a portable tank? i know this is a duh question but could your vent be closed or vibrating closed. ,like bustermin said sounds like your vent is blocked or possibly your pickup tube has a restriction, could also be a bad primer bulb, i believe the check valve in them can go bad,

vent tank not venting. clogged pick up in the tank. your choice which to check first.
