1998 Evenrude 225 vro

what do you guys think of this particular motor, I have always had Yamaha motors and bought this motor about 6 mounths ago because of the power it delivers what I have done is disconnected the VRO and run a straight mix 50 :1 just for safety reasons what I have found is that parts are more expensive than Yamaha parts economy is quite good for my purposes most of the guys out here say that it is a very god motor what do you guys say for or against.

seems like a good engine, when properly maintained.

-you're right about the expense on parts, but my 1987 225 VRO keeps on tickin. when I got it, she would only turn 3000 RPM, but with some love and time under the cowling, I have been getting 5500 all day long for the better part of a year.
