1998 Evinrude

I will be looking at a 1998 Stratus with a 1998 Evinrude 150 Ficht.Is there anything I should be aware of about this motor,heard some horror stories about ficht injection problems.Is this year one to be worried about??????

Hi Jim<br />I would be very leary of the Motor, as it was around the time OMC was changing hands. Might be better to look a little further. My opinion only, but I would pass on that one.

Got to agree with rick her Big Jim. 98' is when OMC came out with the FICT's and it was down hill after that. Is the product your looking at being sold by a dealer or private owner? The originals ran better after having the inhancement kit put on them. This consisted of a new designed head and some other stuff. Check this out before you decide to buy. If a dealer is selling it, get a waranty from him.....at least 20 years worth...LOL!! Really, get the low down on how the engine has been running and definitly take a test drive and take it to a mech for check out. Good Luck!
