Hi All,

I have a 17 Ft. Sunbird with an Evinrude 115. The total package weighs 2580(public scale). I figure with gas/batteries/gear, I am looking at 2900lbs all in.

The trailer is a basic galvanize bunk (ez loader) without brakes. The 1998 Explorer Sport has the higher output 4.0 SOHC (210 hp) and the 4.10 gears, so its rates for more than I am pulling (4800 lbs I think)

Anyone pulling this type of weight with an Explorer Sport? What is it like?

The boat/trailer is a 1993, can I add brakes? If so, any suggestions/recommendations?

Thanks

Your Expy will be fine. I pull alot more with my 4.0L then you. As for adding brakes, if you have a 4 hole plate behind your spindle, you can add them.
