I just acquired a 98 40hp with a lower unit in need of new gears and bearings. I understand that these lower units are actually mercury lower units. Does that mean if I found a used one from a 98 mercury 40hp it would be an exact fit? What about different years (in either the force or merc lineup)? <br /><br />Thanks
