I have done the sync, and link 3 times and i know its perfect, timing is spot on, it is time to richen the idle cicuit, my idle screws have this green goo over them i believe to make them non adjustable. should i just pick it off? also the manual says counter clockwise to richen, is this correct? thanks.

Hi, Frog.

You have a good plan. Just be sure that you can get them back to the original setting if it doesn't help.

Good luck. :)

Re: 1998 johnson 150 sneezes@ idle.

I have a 1998 Evinrude(non fuel injected) that is doing the exact same thing. Seems like when it gets warmed up it doesn't like to idle. "Sneezes" and slowly loses RPM until it dies. Runs great WOT. Was told it may need different sized carb jets because the ones in it are vapor locking. Had carbs rebuilt, idle speed set, timing set, etc.. and still does it. Frog, I was wondering if you figured it out. Thanks.
