I have controls from a 1988 Johnson 120 Looper. I have a 1998 Johnson 200 motor. I installed a standard adapter plug for using the controls and it is installed correctly. When the motor is started, it takes about 2 minutes and the alarm starts going off in the controls. It starts as a pulse beep that gets louder and then it flatlines to an irritating sound. The motor is NOT using the VRO Oil tank. It was removed long ago. I mix the oil and gas myself. Motor runs fine and water pump is working normal. Engine is smoking and polluting the air nicely.
Can someone please tell me what this alarm is and can I disable it or fix it to stop? Open circuit??
