Dear All,

we like to adjust a rebuild engine new and need therefore the ignation adjustment procedure - and a idea what is the first cylinder at this engine.

I would think you should buy a OEM Service manual, if you are asking that question, and planning a rebuild. There would seem to be may other questions, which are more complex, that you will need answered.

Sounds like he has a newly rebuilt engine and needs to link and sync. The top cylinder is #1

Link & sinc, is the coordination of the spark, and the fuel mix. timing plate/carborators. it is a step by step adjustment process, that is covered in the OEM Johnson service manual for your particular motor.

Getting a manual is a good idea for this procedure.

Rich, The '98 Johnny 90HP motor is a V4 engine. Telling him the top cylinder is not too useful.

thank for replay
in qatar is no manual-- the johnson workshop no like to help
(the qataris are verry rich--- you will only see engines 1-5j old
the workshop is full with over 50to80 ****ed jetski and speedboats and evinrude from 150hp to xxxhp engins
fullspeed with no sence and money is the mentality in this contry
they no need my small job
i am waiting sice 2month for an technical support (3times shifted)
for the mechanic from the evinrude workshop it is not ellowed to work
out of his sponsor (privat) he will lose his job

the engine is like new everthing inside pist/bearings/seals are new
new color with special design

If any of you have this manual and can send me the importend sites
it will be a big helb (i spend allredy 2000 usd on this engine and i no like to give up now)

If i like to start the engine i have to give half speed with the throttle without choke and the engine is running

actually if you look at a V4 or V6 the top cylinder is #1, the cylinders are staggered in height.
