Johnson 2 stroke Fuel Injected 115 HP
Model J115FTLECS
Hey everyone I was out running around and the engine decreased in power and then started running poorly so I shut it off and ran back to the boat ramp on my kicker. What I found was that 1 cylinder (port side bottom) now has low compression 80 compared to 130 on the other 3. I pulled the head off and found some minor scoring on the walls and 1 small piece of metal. There was also some minor damage to the top of the piston. I think I may have blown a piston ring. Is there anyway to confirm this without tearing the whole thing apart? The piston seems to move up and down smoothly and doesn't have a lot of play within the cylinder. I know these engines have had so many issues for people however this hasn't been my experience and this engine has run awesome for nearly 25 years. It may have finally come to an end. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
