Hello and thanks in advance for any assistance! I am trying to revive a 1998 Mariner Magnum 200 for a friend. It has sat for two years. I have replaced the plugs, rebuilt the low pressure pump and cleaned the screens in the external fuel lines. It starts right up and has strong fuel pressure. The spark is strong and blue on all cylinders.

The problem is none of the port side cylinders are getting fuel. There is a slight film of oil/gas mix after starting but nothing significant. The cylinders do not heat up when the motor is started and there is no change if you pull a plug. I am planning on pulling the injector cover and checking those lines and the fuel rails tomorrow.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and could shed some light on what may be wrong. I have only run it for 10-15 seconds because I don't want to run it without oil in the cylinders so haven't really messed with it much. I'm just thinking since its all three cylinders that there is a fuel blockage soemwhere.

Any help would be appreciated- Thanks, Ricn

Well, I pulled the injector cover and all injectors are spray strong and even. So, the cylinders must be gettting fuel. It didn't look like much on the plugs but I guess it was enough.

When I pulled the wires, running, there was no change in RPM and each made a nice blue arc back to the plug. SInce the gas and air mix back at the intake, it seems I am getting air, spark and fuel. I am at a loss. Could this be an electrical problem with that kind of spark?

I forgot to mention that the top and bottom cylinder had about 10 more psi compression than the middle. I didn't do a proper warm test because of my fear of no lubrication in the cylinder. Now that I know its got fuel in there I will do a proper test tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the replies.
