1998 Mercury 115 hp cuts off after starting

My 1998 Mercury 115 hp 2 stroke starts fine when <br />cold and runs fine. After I stop for a while then<br />start it again it starts okay but cuts off when I put it into gear. I usually have to rev the engine for several seconds then shift into foward.<br />Then it runs fine until next time I stop. Any ideas on what is causing this to happen?

when you are stopped is the engine still down or are you raising the lower unit out of the water? If you raise this model too high, most of the fuel will run out of the carbs and you will need to re-prime or pump the fuel bulb agian before you take off.

I think its your fuel pump G needs a new diaphram kit. The rest is obvious for inspection but check this item out.
