Here is the story, I recently purchased a hydrasports 2000cc, it has a 1998 oceanrunner 200 (carbs). last time out (fishing), the engine started to misfire at idle and it wouldn't go over 2400rpms. I thought something had happened and it was going on "safe" mode. To my surprise when i took it home, I noticed that one of the banks (all 3 cylinders in one side) did not have spark. I just got it from my mechanic and he replaced the "stator".... I was thinking it was more the power pack. Does this make sense? please help. CAN THE STATOR MAKE YOU LOOSE POWER ON 1 BANK ONLY?

Yes I think each bank has a seperate winding on the stator, thats why the stator feed to the powerpack isn't just a common feed, each bank has its own seperate feed to the pack. Its more common for the pack to fail but...

There ya go.
