My DT25c does not pump out the indicator hole, but there is a large amount of water coming out the exhaust port just below the power head. I have blown air through the indicator port, thermostat, and water pump tube. No blockage. Put in new impeller, water pump housing and thermostat. No change. Ran on the lake with no change. Took for about a 5 minute run at WOT and no overheat alarm. Took cover off and engine was hot but not enought to burn me. I could leave my hand on the head, block, and exhaust cover without being burned. I've seen other brand spray-stop-spray when their thremostats cycle, but not on a DT before. They always seem to pump.

Agreed. Just don't know where.

Wondering if you ever resolved this issue? I am having the same exact problem. Everything seems to be open but will not pump. I've even hooked a hose up to the pickup tube with the lower unit off and it sprayed fine then but when I put lower unit back on hardly any water comes out. water pump looks fine and it's only a few months old

Yes. Mine ended up being a buildup in the bottom of the exhaust plate where the water shoots out. Could of just dug it out with a wire, but pulled the engine to find the problem. Now I know where the problem is, I just stick a wire in there when the engine is running to clean it out when I notice it not peeing correctly.
On my older DT25C it was the impeller housing. I had put in a new impeller and still no pump. I changed the housing even though I could see nothing wrong with it, and it started pumping great. It seems the Suzuki outboards are very touchy on the clearance between the impeller and housing.

I did notice some grooves inside the housing. I was wondering if that may be an issue.

Unfortunately, your problem isn't uncommon. Most times it's caused by scale in the water chamber under the powerhead. I have one customer with a DT25 who's religious about running a wire in the hole and trying to extricate the scale. I have another client who said the heck with it years ago. Both engines run and cool fine. If it's showing discharge out the back of the exhaust stack, it's pumping fine, just like engines of the 50s and 60s.
