Bought from the original owner last fall. Fairly good condition but with some dock rash. Repainted the exterior and new decals going to a more preferred color scheme. Happy with the results being the first boat I did. Not perfect but acceptable. Sylvan named it a 1700 Bluefish, but I relabeled it 1700 Goldfish for obvious reasons. Can’t see that as the side bunks are covering it. Made the new decals a bit smaller than the originals and the white outline is reflective. Yacht Club sent me new decals for free and they are updated from the 1998 design. Finally got it out of the barn today and fired it up to get familiar with it. I may replace the water pump impeller before I take it out on the water. Will worry about the interior later. Interior is in good shape, just need to get rid of the blue. My better half, the fisherwoman in the family, is wanting to get some fishing in. IMG_2184.jpegIMG_2585.jpegIMG_2584.jpeg

Not bad, gold is a difficult color to spray, but why does the white stripe look wobbly?
Personally, I think some blue would go well with the color scheme, maybe a bit darker but still doesn't look bad.

White stripes are a very unique starburst style. You get this effect when you use plain old masking tape and the eurathane paint bleeds under the tape and you get all these little spikes. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it if anyone else asks!!
Or it’s more difficult to get a straight clean tape line than you think for a rookie!
