This problem does not happen every time that I run this motor and it always seems to happen when I am going upstream in the river never downstream. I will be running along at 85 TO 100% WOT and the engine will all at once drop to about 30% TO 40% power. It seems to be running smoothly but sounds as if under load and if cut back to idle it may run smoothly or it may skip. I can switch it off and wait 30 minutes or so and then it is normally alright for awhile. I was wondering if it might be a coil shorting out. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

You probably have a stator or switch box going out

Thanks so much for your reply Laddies, is there a standard procedure that I could use for checking the stator and switch box or would this involve specialized equipment/testers, etc. for checking out

Thanks Again,

The type of problem your having is tough to find without a DVA--Bob
