I repowered my 99 5.0 GL about a year ago and it seems like abouot uevery 6 months it gets a miss and other interior of the cap is gross, I replace it and runs smooth again. No idea why the cap would be get corression huld up, I checked the basket under cap is intact and cap is tight. Any thoughts?

Are you getting the cap with brass contacts or aluminum? Also, how old are the plugs and what about the condition of the wires?

No Title

Does it look like mine? This is the state it get to after being stored over the winter.
I just take a Nylon tuffted wheel on my Dremel to the posts and the come up shinny, takes about 2 mins.
The first cap that came new with the boat had aluminium alloy posts, did the same so I swapped it for the one with brass posts, as you can see no difference.
Boat is in salt water for 6 months here in the Mediterranean. Now just part of my pre launch maintenance schedule.

Mine has brass contacts, on the water I scrubbed it with a small stainless brush to run better for reminder of the day.
