I bought a 1999 5.7 v8 vortec efi engine. The engines efi system , carb cpu intake manifold, was removed. I'm going to put it in my 20ft larson cuddy cabin boat.

I have a couple of intake manifolds. One for a 4bbl and one for a 2 bbl. I have both carbs but the 2bbl seems in good shape.

The engine came with the Kool fuel system.

My question is can I use a 2bbl non efi system on this motor. Is there any modifactions that I have to do?

Any help is appreciated

Ayuh,... They Have to be Vortec manifolds....

Older Chevy intakes bolt on differently, with more bolts, 'n they're a different size...

If they are in fact 8 bolt Vortec manifolds, yes you can run either 1...

The engine came with the Kool fuel system.

You won't be able to use the cool fuel system, that pump is a high pressure pump for fuel injection. You will have to get a fuel pump for a carbed engine and rewire it with an oil pressure switch and to the starter so it will not run with the key on and the engine off.

There is also going to be the distributor and igniton system to deal with, along with the wiring harness.
Then there will be all the brackets for different accessories that may or may not fit on the newer engine

If your Larson had a 5.7 carbed engine from a similiar era (meaning a Vortec engine from 1996 and up) in it previously, then you should have just about everything you need already. You should be able to install your distributor, intake, and fuel pump. The wiring on your current motor would still match up. So it won't be as difficul;t as Don suggests in his second paragraph.
However, if your Larson is really old, and the intakes are not Vortec, you could be in for all the troubles that he mentions. More info from you might lead to these experts ginving you even more specific answers.
