I' m helping out a rookie collegue that I really like.Sorry that I do not have model #s yet but they will be here tommorrow.Trying to get a jump on this thing and share the info I have. The engine will start and run normally until about a half an hour into off idle or above.I have asked him if he isolated the fuel source and he has not.Apparantly his software will not communicate with the ecm to scan,SOO,his buddie took it to the local dealer and they are telling him that their software wo'nt either and that they need to send the ecm off to be scaned or reprogramed.Do'es this sound right to anyone? Also apparantly this thing had substantial paint flaking in the vapor separator and only generates 14 psi after the high pressure pump.I am by no means a ficth expert as we disolved our dealership in 98 and I have not laid my hands on this engine. It would be interesting to see any input.Thanks.

Re: 1999 90 ficht

Model #is E90FTLEEC.Oriiginal ECM #is 586411 printed on the ECM.Superceeded #according to the dealer comes back as 586462 and is three weeks or better out plus the orginal ECM needs to be sent back to be reprogramed for resale.Pricetag is 1100 plus labor.Do'es this sound appropriate to any Ficht techs out there? Will this solve the problem as the dealer states? From what I can gather all that dealer did for him was try to rescan his the ECM.No tank test or fuel pressure test or anything else that would normally be done.Once again,do'es this seem right to you? Thanks.
