1999 Evinrude Ficht. Need some pro advice

I recently just purchased a 1999 evinrude Ficht 150hp. It has 125 compression in each cylinder and runs but breaks up as rpm increases. It had a bad injector, so previous owner replaced injector, but he told me it would need to be sychronizded with the other injectors. I purchased the diagnostic tool with the cd and cable. Has anyone ever synchronized? How do you go about doing that? Thanks!!

I am Converting over from a mercury 150 1991. I purchased new cables and engine to boat harness and system check gauges. Is there anything else I will need? can i use the mercury ignition switch? What kind of switch would I need if I cant use mercury switch?

Ouch.... Could be bad power distribution panel(had several recalls),overheating ECU due to weak impeller or clogged cooling hose,stator voltage out of spec's, rectifier /regulator bad,cranks position sensor,varnish in injectors. I dont think your software will allow/write any changes to parameters in ECU..

Hmm. I guess as soon as i get the software i will fool around with it. Have you ever used the software? The software comes with a manual so I should be able to figure out taking the ecm off. Has anyone taken the ecm off? Impellers easy to change on these?Just like a merc?
Where is the power distribution panel? Is it still under recall if its bad?:)

the original owners injector was hung wide open, the hole in the end was not shut and was open, so im hoping its just something to do with that, but id like to clean ecm if i could figure out a way of getting it off, but my service manual will be 10 days away.... can anyone give me some pointers:D

Forgot to ask.... Will the motor throw codes to tell me whats wrong?

If you only see a hole at the end of the injector, then the pintle valve broke and fell into the combustion chamber. Better take a look for damage to the piston and cylinder wall.

Injectors (new or rebuilt) come with a disc to use with the laptop to program the flow characteristics into the ECU on your motor.

Looks like ive got alot of diagnostic work ahead of me. Home from vacation now, so let the fun begin:D
Has anyone ever fooled around with the coeffiecinets for the injectors? I replaced the bad injector with a used one, but didnt know if there was a way to pull the coeffecint from the serial number on the injector. Thanks for all the help!!

Yes the factory software at a dealer and the bootleg from Canada, the 3.1v bootleg I have....

Has anyone taken the ecm off?

Couple of bolts/nuts hose and connectors...not a big deal

Not like a Merc, Remove cowling and disconnect shifter linkage as driveshaft and shiftshaft both come out. Replace impeller and gaskets (a must)

It is the panel with fuses on starboard side of engine and no as OMC went out of bussiness.

Yes if its sensor,temp or voltage related..

The bad part is the factory could not fix most of the 97/98 and early 99 model engines with problems and Bomb doesnt not offer any support for them..:(
