Hello,

I'm about to remove my flywheel and wanted to know if this nut is left hand or right hand?

The nut size is 1-7/16 and the screws for the puller is 5/16-24 threads, just in case someone needed that information.

I had to purchase a 1-7/16 socket and turn down the outside a few thousands just to fit into the recess area where the nut is located. What a pain in the...

Is there any safety concern with removing this nut, i.e. engine kicking while I try and spin this nut off? I have the power disconnected, any other safety concerns I should look out for???

Thanks.

Lefty ,loosey is the way to go; you will need to find some way to hold the flywheel while you loosen the nut. Most use a flywheel wrench, others use a strap and others just stick a big screwdriver between teeth of flywheel and engine block. In any case be patient and use grade 8 bolts on your puller. Good luck

You can also use an impact driver if you have access to one of them. Also disconnect the spark plug wires.
