i have a 1999 175 hp johnson i had proplems with the way it was running idle rough and would bog on full throtle take of if i throtle slow some times it wont bog i took to a dealer he said i needed a new vro pump it was getting to much oil so i bought a new one with gas pump connected i changed it my self the boat still runs the same i put new plugs new wires new gas filter new water seperator what could be the problem

what happens if you hit the primer for 2 seconds?

First, you need a new dealer.

Without more info it's hard to pinpoint the problem but it alsmost sounds like it's been sitting awhile. If so I'd bet the carbs need cleaned and/or the VST needs some attention. Also make sure the gas is no more than 45 days old and you have the right Champion plugs.

This is all assuming the motor has good compression and spark. Told you we needed more info.....

what is a vst it has not been sitting use every weekend gas is fresh and have the right plugs

what is a vst gas is good plugs are correct i use boat every weekendit runs good when it gets going i get it up to 60mph its just when idle or if i take off to fast

now when i took the cover off if i sqeeze the primer bulb the gas come out off the carbs were the air filter is i took it off is that normal

The carbs need attention. Let's get them cleaned so we know everything is OK in that area. Remember - when a carb is running lean on fuel, that cylinder isn't getting oil either.

Describe what you mean by it has the "right" spark plugs. What plugs are you running?

i sqeeze the ball like i always do to make it hard i sqeeze maybee twice and i see gas coming out of carbs plugs are champion ql78yc is it expensive to get carbs cleaned

i took it to another marine they said they did all the dignotics and found nothing they said they ran it in a tank and it purred like a kittin charged $175 and im still having problems im still having trouble with my motor i put new primer bulb i put new plugs i changed water fuel seperator put sea foam im gas tank and also used deep creep to spray in carbs its still running like s!!!!! does anyone know what else i can check it driving me crazy does anyone know how much a carburator rebuild cost please help

Were the shops you brought it an authorized factory trained on Johnson and Evinrude? It may make a difference on which shop you bring it to .
