1999 Johnson 90hp Hood Latch Glued ?

my 99 johnson hood , the latch that looks like it was glued to the inside of the hood fell off ..... what is best to glue it back on with ??

any special glue ?

i would say epoxy, as this is what is listed.

a boat partz store might be a better source, I'd look for a slow epoxy rather than 5 minute, clean off old glue, rough up with a dremel disc , wipe down with a bit of acetone, apply glue and clamp for 24 hrs.

What happended to the days of rivets? LoL Guess OMC decided glue was cheaper.

You should be able to use a binary epoxy bought from an auto parts store. Clean the area, mix the epoxy with the hardener, apply and clamp for 24 hrs.
