1999 Kawasaki 1100 stx won't crank

Had the jet ski out this weekend and it worked great. Until it got some dirt in the fuel and clogged the fuel filter. We changed that, and then took it back out. Worked great. Then it just died. We tried to start it and it wouldn't even turn over. The digital screen will light up, but when you try to start the ski it won't even turn over. We pulled the battery and tested it. It was fully charged, brand new this year. We checked the fuses and none were blown. When you push the start button the digital screen blinks twice and then turns off. Any clues?

Do jet ski's have starters? and could that be it? how do I test the starter?

Yes jet skis have starters. You could test it I suppose, but it seems like a different issue.

check your ground wire to the engine and the kill switch on the handlebars,, the switch is known to short out if it is old and water gets inside but it usually cranks over it just won't start,, also jump the start solonoid as that may have gone bad.

The kill switch on the handle bars seems like it could be the culprit, as it was acting up when I was riding it earlier but would turn over after I would push it a couple times. Now it won't turn over at all. Where is the solonoid at? A battery cable has to run to it I know. Also how do I test the handle bar switch? I've reached around through the front to check it but really couldn't get a good look. So could be a wire to the start button? Thanks for the help

Where does the ground wire connect to from the engine? or if someone knows where an online schematics is at that would help out tremendously as I don't have the manual.

Also where the fuses are held inside under the screw top. On the side where the wires go in the gaskets are worn out and may have got water in there. What would that do?
