Re: 1999 marada hull crack
I just want to chime in and welcome you to what will become a very enjoyable and fun hobby...that of boating!
I have to completely concur with the responses you have gotten about this hunk of busted glass...RUN!
Don't make any offer, don't look back!
At the very least, if you are ready willing and able to get involved in boating, and cannot afford the payments a new boat will require, then your only real option is to join the club and buy the best boat and trailer possible, with a known good running engine, with the least amount of money and be prepared to do a full and complete restoration on it...it won't be easy and cheap is relative...it will not cost what a new boat does, but it will require a good chunk of change and tons of sweat equity...
The result will be a boat which is built better than the original manufacturer ever did, you will have learned a ton and it will probably outlast you...
All of that being said...
An easier to restore boat hull, still meeting the above criteria of a solid running engine and a useable and restorable trailer would be an aluminum type hull...
They require a lot less time , energy and money to bring back to better than new condition than a fiberglass hull...
Whatever you decide, we'll be here to help out however we can with tons of info and encouragement...
Best of Luck and have Fun!
