Due to problems beyond my control, my boat has sat for over a year with gas in it. Gas turned bad. When put away ran perfect.

Batteries fully charged. Fresh gas in it. Still won't start. Will fire, but will not run.

Is there anything the average guy can do to try to get it up and running again.

Re: 1999 Mercury 200 EFI will not start

does the fuel pump turn on for 2 seconds when the key is first turned on?
a standard automotive fuel pressure test guage will attach to the shrader valve on the fuel rail, fuel pressure shoud be 30-35 PSI .
no fuel pressure means no fuel or lubrication so leave off the starter fluid.
a few squirts of gas premixed at 50-1 down the air valves will allow it to fire off but my guess is the fuel pump locked up.
