Hey guys

Its a Electric start and Tilt and trim version.

My friend has a motor that recently Fried the 2 yellow wires that hook the Stator to the Rectifier/Voltage Regulator. Im thinkin the Rectifier/Voltage reg. went out and took the stator with it.

It fires only on the top cylinder and he swapped the 3 CDM units to rule them out and it still only firing on the top cyliner.
I notice that the White / Green wire from the stator runs the top cylinder.
And the Green/White wires (2) handle the middle and bottom cylinder(s).
Thats whats making me think the stator went with the rectifier/voltage reg.
And Iv'e heard that sometimes when a stator goes out it can take the trigger with it.
We need some help to take tests to rule out certain parts so he doesn't lose money just throwing parts in.

I'm having trouble, troubleshooting 3 things
Stator
Trigger
Rectifier/Voltage Regulator

We have 2 manuals but some information is different like wire colors to troubleshoot, also I don't have a good multimeter that handles the Resistance ranges the manual is calling out for.

What resistance tests can I do to rule out these parts (Stator, Trigger, Rectifier)? Heres pics with wire colors.

Also doing so shopping to plan ahead. Found a Stator and Trigger on Ebay. Are these interchangeable at all or go superseded??

Sorry for the long post but my friend needs help and I feel bad that I can't help out. If it were a carbs, water pump, fuel pump job I would have been all over it. Very frustrating when I have to walk away with no outcome.

Thanks in advanced,
DamianJP
