I have an opportunity to get a 2005 DP 190 at a decent price, can anyone help me with the compatability with my 1999 SX-M transom shield. The gear ratio's match up, just wasn't sure if I need to chase down a transom shield also. Doing a restore on my boat and this is a good time to convert to a dual prop. Thanks in advance for any help/advice

Don,

Thanks for the reply, the add is for a Volvo DP190, could it be a DPI? Trying to get a part number from the drive, long drive so I wanted to see if it's worth the effort.

Never heard of a DPI either. If the guy doesn't even know what it is, I would sure be worried about condition as well.

If he can't get a model or serial number (On a metal tag on the Port side of the drive) I would be very suspicious. (Stolen)?

Good point, seems it is a DPA 2 according to him, does that make more sense? Sounds like it's from an older boat, is it compatible. It is an estate sale and fella is older and not very sure what he has. As always thanks for the great help

Yes a DP-A2 is a model number, and its not even the same kind of outdrive. Not compatible with yours at all.

Thanks Don for taking the time to keep me straight. Guess I'll go back on the search
