rodbolt, I probably need to get a service manual for the engines because I dont even know what the shift inkage looks like or exactly where it is located. I know its under the cowell.
I just ordered a service manual from yamaha. How difficult or involved is it to adjust the shift linkage? If i jrun the engine wwith the linkage out of adjustment a bit will it ruin anything?
running it with the dogs clicking in nuetral will damage the shift clutch and whatever gear its hitting.<br /> adjust it as per the manual. when your done the shift slide will be about centered when the control box is placed in nuetral. some slide have a mark for center<br /> good luck and keep posting
