1999 Yamaha no power

I've got a 1999 90hp Yamaha. The engine starts up fine and idles fine, but when put into gear it doesn't go any higher than 2600 rpm's. I've cleaned the carbs and replaced everything from the fuel tank to the engine. Could the problem be electrical?

You probably already ruled this out, but you could check the throttle linkage to ensure it is operating fully. You could phsically manipulate the throttle on the carb to see if this is the problem. Additionally, it could be electrical b/c on my motor (200hp yamaha) when the warning buzzer goes off, the engine automatically throttles down regardless of the position of the throttle.

Try using a timing light and seeing if it is firing on all three cylinders.
