LOVE IT!

Hey all //

My name is Michael and this is our first boat! Grew up boating the lakes of Minnesota & Lake Superior. My wife and I just bought our first boat?now we just need some warmer weather!

Growing up our family started with an 88 19' Bayliner Capri. Moved up to a 24' Searay Sundancer?next to a 30' cruiser, now my dad is back at a 24' Sundancer.

Here are a few pics. Sent my dad the pic in the parking lot?first words out of his mouth were: "check yer trailer tab". Sure enough, thankfully I didn't bottom out the skag on anything.

Found the short in the trailer wiring?thus no need for the mickey mouse ears anymore.

Having the trailer sand-blasted, primed and restored/painted for me at the end of the month. (free service from a family friend).

My new best friend quickly became the 3M stripe off wheel. WOW! What an amazing product! Didn't care for the decal pin-stripping?so I removed it. So much cleaner! But the 3M stripe off wheel made ALL the difference in the world. No more decals and zero residue. Also?didn't even touch the clear goat?like nothing was there.

First sign of warmer weather will be her first wash, rubbing compound, polish and wax.

Boat came with the original bow cover and bimini top. Went out and purchased a new fitted cover. 5.0/V8. After market stereo and speakers. Rebuilt lower unit?don't know hours on engine, but sea-trail?she was solid. NO blue smoke with water muffs. g2g!

Will post some better quality pictures once we get the weather. Sorry for the cell phone pics.

Thanks all!

M

First two things to replace/fix on my list.

Very front of the bow?there is a small piece of fiberglass/gelcoat that was knicked. Probably half the size of a pencil eraser.

Rear starboard floor has a very small soft spot. Not enough that makes me worry?yet it is soft so I'll be needing to replace and cut out that section.

Welcome to iboats!

I'm also a big fan of those pinstripe eraser wheels. They work great!

Any soft spot should be cause for worry, at least a little. Rot, like its cousin rust, never sleeps. You also need to determine if what you're seeing is just the tip of the iceberg: stringers and transom must be inspected.
