Hi, I bought a Bristol skiff in Titusville Fla which is rated at 40hp,
so found a Mariner 40 hp 4 cylinder serial no. 0C295608.
The # does'nt match anything I assume it's a 90 or 91...I looked at at least 3 charts
none are real clear to me.
What manual do I need? Am I right the motor is a 91?
Plan was to buy a new 4 stroke and just thought I'd look around at different motors and the 4 cylinder made me look and what people say about it on the net was very good.
Compression test was 120 all 4. foot test fine, all good, freshwater use only, all the screws still shiny, some exterior paint scratches and a little faded but looks good enough for now.
This is my first outboard, bought a $20 video on motor maintenance, already know how to clean a carb, the video was a good idea.
