1st Post - SportJet "strange" Idle - Can anyone help?

I have a 97 SeaRayder F16 with a 175 Sport Jet. When the engine is warm, it seems to "surge" at idle. It will be running just fine then it gets a 1 second surge of power. I can not for the life of me figure out why. Any Ideas?

Does this engine have the cold start enrichment? If so I'd check in to the operation of it, and look around the carbs, surging like that is usually air leak related...But I'm by far NOT an expert...just thought I'd throw you a possible starting point.

Does it have a pumper carb?

Its a floatless carb (no bowl) and has the fuel pump housing intregal to the carb body. Used on jetski type craft, snomobiles, etc. These have a well deserved rep for not being able to keep the idle adjusted...it is an airbleed adjustment for the idle and regular jet for high speed. I've owned a couple and seen many with the low speed problem. <br /><br />I am shooting in the dark and assuming your craft is a PWC type.

It is a 97 SeaRayder. The motor is a Merc 2 stroke 175 V6 sport jet with three carbs. As far as I know it is the same powerhead that is on a 175 V6 outboard. (could be mistaken though) any more ideas anyone?
