As a rule of thumb only, about 10% of total hp at wfo per hr. 175hp + 175hp =350hp. 10% of 350hp = 35 so 35 gph @ wfo mas su manos.

c/6

Hooty

I have twin 1996 175 HP Evinrude Ocean Pros on a 24' Boston Whaler, they are carbed and basically the same as the new Johnsons. They are not the most fuel efficient rigs around by far...I actually don't know GPH fuel but it's not good. :( Their great motors, however. I do know the fuel injected motor cost alot more. I'd go with Hooty's estimate. ;)

MUMBLERONE- I HAVE HEARD ABOUT THE 10% HP/GPH RULE AT WOT, BUT AT A CRUISE DO YOU THING YOU'RE BURNING 15-20 GPH TOTAL AND WHAT SPEED ARE YOU DOING 30 MPH?? I AM TRYING TO CALCULATE ROUGH MPGS. I KNOW THAT THE FUEL INJECTION IS MORE EFFICIENT BUT AM WEIGHING THE ADDED COST TO FUEL CONSUMPTION.

Hi CKJR, I have a pair of 175's on my 25' GradyWhite. I normally use 1.25 gallons per mile. Whenever I go fishing thats about the right estimate. If I go 60 miles I burn 75 gallons. Thats the best I can tell you.

Take a look at www.regulatormarine.com This site compares it's boats with a variety of motor combinations...I think you'll get some insight there. They have a 23' and a 26' model that you can look at. The Acrobat Reader download takes a few minutes to get the specifications. I'd be just guessing...hmmmm, now if Santa can get me the Floscan deal that's on the list... ;)
