Hi everyone,
In regards to the lower gear case forward and reverse gears are the bushings that are pressed in them available?
The gears come with them but can the bushings be purchased without the gears?
I see them for outboards only so I think I know what the answer may be but I'm reaching out to the experts.
Thank you 😊

The forward gear has a bushing and I suppose you could get it new one machined.----Reverse rides on a needle bearing in the propshaft housing.----Curious on the reason for your question.----Do you have this gearcase apart now?

Hi,
It is apart right now because I have excess longitudinal play in the propeller shaft 3/16" and it jumped out of gear on me once.
I did come to realize about the shift rod height adjustment after researching so that may explain the jumping out of gear but I want to fix the play issue.
I may get a new reverse gear but I can't afford the forward/pinion setup. The gears themselves look fine but the bushing in the forward gear is not worn evenly, evident by the lubrication groove depth. I am going to replace whatever I can just to upgrade so to speak.
I'm going through the drive like the rest of the boat 😊
