I know I need the OMC manual... I bought one on E-bay (seemed like a great deal), but naturally, the pages I needed were ripped out... better than half of the the 2.3L section.

Can anyone do a little diggin' for me for the specs for timing this 2.3L? i have an old fella coming down this afternoon to put my carb back on, and put my points and condenser and plugs and wires in... hopefully this will cure my boating woes for a little while.

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the beggin'. :D

I'm soooo sorry. I had my head up my heinie, I'm afraid.

It's a 1988.

Will 10 degrees work for the 1988 model too?

Thanks soooooo much!!!!!

Re: 2.3L timing question

If you have an 1988 OMC Service Manual, check out "Section 2". I got all this information from the "Tune-up Specifications".....

I don't know for sure, but my guess would be that since they used this engine for so few years that there would not have been alot of modifications made between 1987 and 1990 and 10deg would be right.
