Well, what is the HP of the old "2.5", and what is the HP of the "new" 3.0?

Probably not a huge difference, so don't expect one.

2.5=120HP
3.0=135 or 140 HP

15 to 20 HP is significant - it's about 8%

Most small runabouts would see 1 to 3 MPH more top end and slightly better holeshot.
