I just got this 1988 Sunbird 16.5' with a 2.5L Mercruiser MCM 2.5. Rochester carb And an Alpha 1 outdrive with a 17pitch SS prop. 4500RPM's seems to be max at speed trimmed right. I have some knocking in it in both nutral and drive. It seems to increase with RPM does not lack power. I ajusted the timeing a little and it seemed to get quieter. What is the proper Timing for it and how do I look for the mark? Is the Mark same as a car? Please any help would be greatly appricated.
