2 barrel mercarb flooding why?

This mercab has been taking apart and cleaned, it sat for a year and I got it running but it has been flooding ever since, the accelarator pump seems to be sticking a little bit, which I will be addressing today, it runs ok for a little while then it floods and leaves us stranded for a while, any ideas?

Float could be bad, the float level could be off. You can't just "clean" a carb. You need a new gasket kit, which should include a new needle and seat.

ok, I firgured it would probably need a kit, its a friend of mines boat he is deployed to afgan and Im just trying to help him out while hes gone, but Ill get him to order one and install it, thanks
