2 cyls.low compression ? 92 Merc. 115

On a 1992 mercury 115 with 2x2 carb system, <br />compression is 125# in 2 cyls. and 108# in other<br />2 cyls.( told this by seller ) Is it possible<br />that the 2 cyls. that run below 1800 are just<br />gummed up? Is this compression out of line? How<br />is best way to run my own tests? I just bought<br />this motor and was told it ran good by seller.<br />THANKS

Dennis, I would run some decarb through the tank, and even hit those low cylinders and let them sit overnight. In the morning, go run it out a couple of hours and recheck. It is most likely carbon in the rings.
