2 gaskets

This is another ROOKIE??? To replace a head gasket do I have to replace the head cover gasket.

Not if you don't take the head cover off, normally no good reason to. If you remove the head clean all surfaces well and replace with a new gasket. Torque to specs.

So I just seperate head gasket plate not the the other plate and how do I clean it smooth it and can u tell me the torqe specs.
