Okay heres the deal I gots a 1990 oil injected carburated mercury 75 horse outboard. Shes big, shes black, shes beautiful... Any way last time I took her out we were fishing here and there (you know the drill) for about two hours then we decided to head way down river to a hot spot we knew of, after about fifteen minutes of slow running dodging stickups and what not we finally get to open it up. As soon as I get up toward full throttle my rpms drop and she dies
. Not being one to chance my motor I call off all fishing and head back toward the ramp.
now I cant keep it running It will start and Idle and it will even accelerate but after a few minutes she dies. Water is pumping no alarms no clue.
I get it home open the cowler and the only thing that looks out of the ordinary is two blue wires with slip together butt connectors and thier counter parts(4 in all) disconnected and hanging under the oil fill tank. What are these wires? And would they alone cause my motor to disfunction as described? Thanks in advance for the help sorry it is such a long post
After closer inspection the two blue wires run into the bottom of the oil jug are these pump wires or what
