2 HP v 3 HP.

Hi folks.
Any idea why a Yamaha Malta 3 HP 2 strokes performance was less than a 2 HP dt2 on the same sib.less acceleration and less top speed. Same water, wind conditions etc.
Propellor pitch on 3 HP (6). Propellor pitch on the 2 HP. (4.5) ??

Is the motor running correctly ? You would need to know the engine RPM at wot to know if it is performing correctly.

One could be under rated, while the other over rated...
70 yrs ago Mercury was Famous for that, their 10hp was blowing OMC 16s out of the Water...
