The jack plate idea would give him the latitude to adjust vertically, but it would be best to keep it at a minimal set-off.

I agree, it sitting like 3 inches too high at least.........
Take a picture from inside at the mount and one from the side focused at the mount and transom..............
I could see it in the first picture, is that motor all the down on its mount? Take a picture from the inside so we can see.

Yeah, definitely too high. Bring the AV plate down to about an inch above the keel.

If you are thinking about going with a jack plate, be certain that your transom is rock solid! Setting that motor farther back of the transom will just give it more leverage against it and any rotten wood could be a diaster! I know from experience, and I wasn't using a jackplate either!

thanks for all the help and suggestions. I am going to just cut the transom down 3 inches to fit this motor setup properly and be done with it. The Transom is very solid wood with fiberglass over it,, so the cut down should be easy. I will reinforce the cut with Fiberglass to keep the wood from rotting. I am also going to install some smart tabs on it as well before the next boating season. That should solve my Listing problem while riding in the boat.
See you all next post...
Thanks again everyone.
