Well, still haven't had much time to look at this motor I am working on between the rain and long hours at work, but I have 2 more question I figure you guys can help me with. First one, are the manual tilt/trim cylinders serviceable? I was told the previous owner drained the fluid out (I think because he was too cheap to replace a broken cable) and I would like to get it fixed until I can afford to buy a power tilt/trim unit. Second question, this motor is a 1991 40hp. I suspect the fuel pump is wearing out and I checked with the dealer today for a new one. Boy, they sure are proud of them things! $345.00! Anyway, is there anything else that can go bad in them other than the diaphram? They have a "rebuild" kit for $30. Seems like a no brainer. If the diaphram won't solve the problem, I think I may switch to mixing gas and was wondering what a good part number was for a fuel pump to do the conversion. I guess that actually makes 3 questions, sorry.
Thanks for the help again!
